For those of you in love with all things whimsical, curious, or unusual (in a good way) this should be right up your alley!

This artist is amazing!  I just found it on ETSY tonight and am so inspired!  The talent is incredible, as is the range of subjects.  I truely want one of each!

New Item -- The Ruffled Swing Jacket

This jacket has a snap closure covered with an over sized bright button.  Just for kicks I added a length of ribbon to each sleeve.  The sleeves are 3/4 length kimono-type sleeves.  The PERFECT jacket for a warm spring day.

This is my prototype jacket but there will, hopefully, be many more of these in my shop as soon as I can cut and sew them up! Available in linen, corduroy, wool suiting and cotton twill. All jackets are lined with 100% designer cotton fabric for comfort.

Sewing and Stitchery Expo -- The Inside Scoop

I spent the last weekend at the Sewing and Stitchery Expo held at the Western Washington Fairgrounds in Puyallup.  My head is still reeling.  I had read that it was the largest sewing expo in the nation.  After attending it, I don't doubt that fact at all.

I learned so much and would highly recommend it to anyone into sewing, textiles, or other stitching arts.  There were a shocking number of people there but the staff did a great job keeping order to the crowds.  Their presenters were exceptionally knowledgeable, humorous and extremely engaging.  I definitely had a few "light bulb" moments in their classes.

I left the expo better educated and brimming over with inspiration (as well as a lot of money lighter).  Now, if only they sold extra minutes in the day to go along with all of that inspiration!

The expo is a yearly event and...I can't wait to go again next year!

A couple of firsts!

So, I have a couple of firsts to share...This week I've had two of them!  The first...my first international order!  The second...my first repeat customer!

First of all...  I have to start by saying thank you to all of you reading this blog.  You make what I love doing possible for me.  I love to sew outside of the box kids clothing.  Plain and simple.  It delights me to finish a project, custom ordered or something for my website, and see that it has turned out exactly or even better than I had envisioned.

So, who'd have thought that someone untrained in fashion, or sewing could have this amazing little start up business sewing what she likes?  And amazingly enough, other people like it too!  If you would have told me 5 years ago that this is what I'd be doing I think I would have laughed.

Honestly, it's an honor and a surprise every day that people are just as intrigued and delighted by the things I put together as I am.
